A Closer Look at the New Fujifilm X-T2 Controls (based on Real Life Leaked Images) !

X-T2-Final-1-600x574

A few days ago, here on FujiRumors we have leaked the first real life images of the Fujifilm X-T2 (no fake, don’t worry).

Now it’s high time to take a closer look at them, and see all the changes Fujifilm made over the X-T1.

NOTE: these are not rumors, just my observations/speculations based on the (real) leaked Fujifilm X-T2 images.

  1. the dials on the X-T2 seem to be thicker compared to the X-T1
  2. addition of center-weighted metering
  3. the focus assist button of the X-T1 is gone. I guess Fuji made the rear dial clickable and it will work as focus assist, just like it is on the X-Pro2
  4. no flimsy accessory door (already improved on the X-Pro2)
  5. New tilt screen (probably flex tilt-screen like the Pentax K1)
  6. joystick
  7. The new dual SD-card door has a new opening mechanism.
  8. The last thing I’ve noticed is that the lock button on the ISO dial looks different compared to the one on the X-T1. It actually looks like if there were two buttons. Maybe this mechanism could allow us to block also the “drive dial” under the ISO dial. However, the “double button” could also be just an optical illusion created by a water drop.

Reminders:

  1. Photokina is the most important photography show in the world. At Photokina every camera manufacturer will display its very best products. Any yet, the X-T2 will NOT be announced at Photokina (late September), but in late June / early July.
  2. Fujifilm itself said the X-T2 will have 4K.

DELAYED: No Fuji EF-X500 Flash in May… it will come in Summer!

Share

Bildschirmfoto 2016-04-22 um 12.06.00

On January 15, Fujifilm officially announced the EF-X500 Flash, and said it will come in May (press release & specs here)

Well, I have to inform you, that our sources said the flash has been delayed to Summer 2016 (and hopefully there won’t be further delays).

Another example about how rumors or even official Fuji statements (or roadmaps) can be right at the time of sharing, but wrong afterwards, just because Fuji changed plans. That’s the main reason why my rumor hit rate is of “only” 84% ;) .

Zack Arias is Back :: A Journey through the Remote Villages of Morocco (with his Fuji X gear) to help Kids!

Share

Zack Arias is back with a new Video!

This time he went back to Morocco (he has been there last year, too) for good cause: raise money to help kids to get access to better education. He travelled with his light Fuji gear (and of course the Instax Share SP-1 printer) from village to village, through a wonderful scenery, along with his son.

This is more than just a Fuji Promo video. It’s an invitation to travel, to meet, to share… and to do good. Make sure to check out the video.

I’ll close this post with the words of my favorite author, Michel de Montaigne, who said (sorry for the bad translation made by myself)

To me, travelling seems a beneficial exercise. The soul is practicing this exercise continuously, noticing new and unknown things. And I don’t know of a better school to form life, than to continuously present ourselves the diversity of many other lives, opinions and customs, and let our soul taste the variety of nature. While travelling, our body is neither lazy nor wearied… and it’s this moderate movement that gives him energy.

P.S.: Also here on FujiRumors, the X-shooter community tried to do good, collecting $3,500 for Free Education for Cambodian kids. Thanks again for your support.
