Fujifilm X-Pro3 Coming with Tilt Screen

Fujifilm X-Pro3

If you are following me on Instagram, you will already know I am passing my holiday with SonyAlphaRumors in Croatia.

But if you think I am going to have a break from the rumors and the blogging, then you are terribly wrong. Just like Fuji’s new slogan, also FujiRumors Never Stops.

So what I am hearing today?

Well, I am hearing, that the Fujiiflm X-Pro3 will have a tilt screen.

Personally I am surprised, because Fujifilm has repeatedly said over the years, that a tilt screen does not fit with their philosophy for Fujifilm’s X series rangefinder line (X-Pro, X100 and X-E).

I will try to confirm this rumor as soon as possible, so stay tuned.

Fujifilm X-Pro3, X-H2, X100V, Panasonic Full Frame Fiasco, XF33mm F1.0, GFX 100 – Breaking May FR-Rumors and Top 15 Articles

Top of the Posts

May was an extremely busy month, with 79 articles written in 31 days, the GFX100 live blogging and… my marriage (no, can’t buy any new gear for a while with what that cost ;).)

In May, FujiRumors has also delivered several breaking rumors about the following Fujifilm cameras:

  • Fujifilm X-Pro3
  • Fujifilm X-H2
  • Fujifilm X100V (or X200)

I consider all rumors 100% accurate.

It’s not our style to mislead and clickbait people with fake made up rumors, sadly a practice that is going strong these days. FR is well fueld with reliable rumors, we do not need to go down the desperate fake rumor road.

And I tell you more…

I now slow down a few days to recover, but then  I’ll be back with rumors, especially with one that might surprise you positively. You can dream now and I’ll tell you later, once I have green light from the source :).

Back to us, and to the very busy month of May.

So many things happened, that I thought to list the top 15 read articles for May down below, so you can catch up in case you missed them.

Fujifilm X-Pro3 with IBIS and Fujifilm X-T4 Clickbait :)

According to Camerabeta at Weibo, the Fujifilm X-Pro3, which we rumored to come this year, will have the following specs:

  • The new machine will use a 2400/2 megapixel X-Trans CMOS sensor; [I guess google tranlsate had troubles to translate 26MP]
  • With X-Processor 4 processor with 4 core CPU;
  • 4K video capture at 60 frames per second;
  • Built-in body five-axis anti-shake;
  • 3-inch 1.04 million point 3-axis touch screen;
  • Weatherproof magnesium alloy body;

This is all camerabeta said, and I can not confirm the specs until now.

Camerabeta does not mention the Fujifilm X-T4 at no point, and everybody who talks about it now, is out for clickbait (as usual) :).

Fujifilm X-Pro3 Announcement Within October

Fujifilm X-Pro3

We keep up getting feedback about the Fujifilm X-Pro3, this time by a new source, who confirmed with us, that the Fujifilm X-Pro3 announcement will happen within October 2019.

This sounds like the Fujifilm X-Pro3 will not be announced at Fujikina 2019 on May 25/26.

There will be a mega-announcement on May 23, when the Fujifilm GFX 100 will be unveiled, and it comes with a LIVE BLOG on FujiRumors.com! Don’t miss it.

Fujifilm X-H2, X-T4 and X-Pro3 with Samsung Pixel Merge Technology for Variable Megapixel Sensor

Fujifilm & Samsung

Back in 2018 Samsung and Fujifilm officially announced the development of a new CMOS image sensor technology for enhanced light sensitivity and color fidelity, called ISOCELL+ sensor (full report here).

This sensor structure also allows for the revolutionary “pixel merge technology“, already used in the Samsung Galaxy A7

This is how it works on the Samsung Galaxy A7: the 24 megapixel sensor can, for better low light image quality, combine 4 pixels into 1 pixel and end up with 6 MP files (via samsung.com).

The hot rumor today is:

Samsung will provide Fujifilm with APS-C and Medium Format pixel merge technology sensors.

The rumor is of a 36 megapixel APS-C sensor, that could be switched to 9, 18 or 27 megapixel according to your needs. You will also be able to switch between Bayer and X-Trans layout. Last but not least, the pixels will also be able to flip by 180° into black & white mode.

The source told me, this technology will be ready for the Fujifilm X-H2, Fujifilm X-T4 and Fujifilm X-Pro3, followed by a 150 megapixel medium format Fujfilm GFX 150.

This “universal all-in-one” sensor is Fujifilm’s answer to customers’ often impossible desires: one sensor, to satisfy them all!

But Fujifilm’s mission to deliver what we really desire and need does not stop here!

According to our source, the next step is the use of Vibranium from Wakanda for lens development, which should allow for a fully optically corrected XF 8-600mm f/0.85 pancake lens for less than $500.

It looks like our constant complaints finally pushed Fujifilm to re-invent the laws of physics.

This digital photography revolution starts today, with this rumor, on this special, very special day, that I will mark in my calendar… and you should do the same :).

stay tuned on FujiRuomors… not only April 1 ;)

Fujifilm X-Pro3 will Be Made In Japan – Anonymous Source

Fujifilm X-Pro3

Here on FujiRumors we value your trust.

This is why we meticlously filter anonymous rumors, and you guys will read only those, that I feel confident to share (the tons of fakes I get every year will never go online).

But, even though today I feel confident to share, I invite you to take every anonymous rumor with a grain of salt.

An anonymous source (who used a nick-name, thanks!) contacted me via rumor box and told me the next Fujifilm X-Pro3 will still be made in Japan.

Fujifilm moved the Fujifilm X-T3 production to China in order to be able to sell it sensibly cheaper to customers. This is why, at launch, the brand new Fujifilm X-T3 cost less than the Fuji X-T2.

By keeping the X-Pro3 production in Japan, we can expect the X-Pro3 to match the current Fujifilm X-Pro2 price or be even higher.

We remind you that the Fujifilm X-Pro3 will come in 2019.

That’s it… for now, but I have lots (!!!) of rumors I am working on. Follow FujiRumors on Facebook, RSS-feed, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram to read them all soon.

Also, if anyone out there is willing to help me out in the thick rumor jungle, feel free to contact me also anonymously via rumor box.

MESSAGE TO THIS ANONYMOUS SOURCE: Thank you very much!!! I have read also the other rumors you shared, and since they are pretty long-term, I will give it a quick double-check with sources and share them hopefully very soon. Thanks again for the help, and feel free to contact me again whenever you want using the nickname.

Fujifilm X-Pro3 Coming in 2019 – Trusted Source

Fujifilm X-Pro3

According to our trusted sources, the Fujifilm X-Pro3 will come in 2019.

I have no specs for now, but it is safe to assume (personal guess), that it will feature the same sensor and processor of the Fujifilm X-T3.

  • fujirumors –  Fujifilm X-Pro3 Concepts and Share Your X-Pro3 Wish List (includes survey)
  • fujirumors – What to Expect from Fujifilm X-Pro3 (includes another survey)

When exaclty will the Fuji X-Pro3 come?

Well, we have already analyzed the complete Fujifilm X cameras refreshment rate, and if Fujifilm would keep the usual product cycle, the X-Pro3 should be out in January 2020.

Today’s rumor, though, suggest that Fujifilm anticipates the release of the X-Pro2 successor. My personal guess (NOT RUMOR) is that this will happen towards the end of 2019, hence being very close to the January 2020 date.

But to be clear, I have no time indication, which could mean the Fujifilm X-Pro3 could be annouced anytime in 2019. I will let you you know more details as soon as I can.
