Share

Capture One 11.1 has just been released and adds support for Fujifilm X-H1 and overall improvements.

If you are interested, we recently shared a blog post about switching from Lightroom to Capture One for Fujifilm X-Trans files, and what Capture One does better than Lightroom.

Capture One & Fujifilm

In 2017, Capture One has made huge steps forward when it comes to Fujifilm X-Trans files support by adding Fujifilm compressed RAW support, OpenCL and more (we reported about it here).

Tethering is not supported, but if you own an X-T2, X-Pro2 or X-T1, an easy and quick workaround is to use Fujifilm’s free tethering software X Acquire.

C1 still does not offer film simulation profiles, but there is a great homebrew at the fuji-x-forum. However, a Capture One manager said in 2017 here, that “there is no reason why we can’t offer Fuji’s film simulations profiles in future“.

The Fujifilm GFX 50S is not supported.

Does Gear Matter?

Let’s grab the occasion of Olaf’s new ebook, to share a bit of a different roundup, focussing less on the latest and greatest gear, and more on inspiration and on stories told using Fujifilm gear.

But don’t worry. I am the first to admit that talking and speculating about gear is simply fun, too. So make sure to follow FujiRumors on Facebook, RSS-feed, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter… and I promise we are going to have lots of fun… very soon :)

Stories of the Day

CHERNOBYL: Nate Robert: This post shows that a non-weather-sealed XE2s can survive three entire days in the middle of a snowy, freezing winter, inside the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone – a radioactive wasteland. After my X-Pro1 stopped working in Chernobyl, I picked up a good deal on the old-model XE2s and have started using the Fuji 16/1.4 – an exceptionally crisp lens, perhaps not as characteristic in rendering as the 18mm, but I do like the extra 2mm.” Check out the story: Inside a Nuclear Reactor – The OMFG Chernobyl Tour

ANTARTICA: Richard Simko: “I had a priviledge to join a trip to Antarctica on a tall ship. I have just recently finished the 7 part serios on my blog covering the trip and of course some photographes. Perhaps you might be interested. Among 55 people including crew, there were only 5 mirrorless cameras and only one Fujifilm. Mine :)” Here are the 7 parts: Ushuaia, Meet the Ship, Crossing the Drake Passage and first landing, South Shetland Islands, Sailing towards Antarctic Peninsula, Last days and farewell Antarctica, Gallery.

X AMBASSADOR’S LIFE: Flemming Bo Jensen tells about his five year as a Fujifilm X-series camera ambassador. Read the whole story at flemmingbojensen.

And Now Profoto Denies Plans for A1 for Fujifilm

Share

You might remember, how back in September 2017, Profoto USA said here, that they are going to release the Fujifilm version of their A1 studio light.

A few months later, in November, Profoto announced that pre-orders and sales for the Profoto A1 are very strong, hence the Canon/Nikon version will be delayed… and as a consequence also any other version, which should have followed after CaNikon.

But here comes the bad news.

FR-reader gkutar (check out his instagram here) had a talk with Profoto, and he asked when we will finally get the Fujifilm version.

The answer was the one you can see in the screenshots below.

J.B. Camera Designs Wooden Grip-Base for Fujifilm X-H1 Available

Share

JB Camera Designs just announced their wooden grip-base for Fujifilm X-H1 cameras. It will be available soon at their AmazonUS store here.

This is one of my personal favorite grips to date…I love the look and feel of our Wood Grip-Base on my new Fujifilm X-H1! Available in three different materials: Bamboo, Padauk, and Walnut. Each unique grip is handmade and finished here in Oklahoma. I think Fujifilm X-H1 is just about the perfect ergonomic mirrorless camera, but the Grip-Base adds that little extra room for your pinky finger – while giving your camera a unique look and solid extra protection.
