I’ve already told you here, that Fujifilm plans a new Kaizen Firmware update.
Well, today I have an update for you. According to a FR-source, some cameras, and for sure the Fujifilm X-T2, should get the ability to add in camera copyright to your images.
If this is true, well, then Fujifilm finally listened to a long-term firmware request by the X-shooter community. Let’s hope that also “older” X-series cameras will get this feature… but I would not be too optimistic about this.
And as always, Firmware rumors are tricky. So no matter how trusted or not the source is, take it with a grain of salt.
I received some emails of fellow X-shooters, pointing me to some rumors saying that the Fujifilm X-T20 will have an articulating screen.
I have to inform you that it’s a fake. There won’t be any articulating screen, and not even a 3-way tilting screen like on the X-T2 or GFX. The X-T20 will have a regular 2-way tilt screen, just like the Fujifilm X-T10… with the difference that it will be a touch screen. And it also won’t have a Joystick, as reported here.
The X-T20 will be a downspece’d version of the X-T2. 24MP sensor + X-Processor Pro, but no super-high continuous AF burst, no weather sealing, 1 SD card slot and probably no 4K.
All the latest and greatest Fujifilm goodness will be launched on Janaury 19. Just tune in to FujiRumors… you’ll get all the news and rumors. And make sure you won’t miss anything, by following us also on Facebook, RSS-feedandTwitter.
For most part, the Fuji X-T20 will be for the X-T2 what the current X-T10 is for the X-T1: a downspece’d and cheaper version of the flagship. So expect the new 24MP sensor and X-Processor Pro, but not a super-high continuous AF burst mode, no weather sealing, 1 SD card slot and probably no 4K, since the camera will also be smaller than the X-T2, and hence heat dissipation will be a problem.
But the probably biggest difference will be the following: the Fujifilm X-T20 will not have a joystick. Instead, it will feature a pinch to zoom capable touch screen.
