Rumor Update X100 replacement: new name and new sensor

Fuji CES invite

Ok. I already told you of the imminent replacement of the X-100, as written in an article at f11.

According to rumors from trusted sources I recently got, I can confirm that there will be an X100 replacement with X-Trans sensor.

AND

The X100 replacement will not have the name X200. And everything will be better! Better AF, better hybrid viewfinder, better operating speed… and the same sensor of the X-PRO1! It took me some time to check it, but now I can say that the lens will remain the 23mm f/2.

That’s all for now! I don’t know the name of this camera, but maybe you could make some guess in the comments.

ONE MORE THING: As you can see from the invitation-image (source petapixel) there will be an announcement at January 7. Fujirumors will follow this event step by step. So stay tuned, I’ll continuously update my site to keep you up to date.

The 2013 Fuji forecast from Impress Japan!

The popular magazine Impress Japan shared his forecast on the Fuji 2013 key developments and news. They predict that Fuji will launch a new Full Frame X camera, new entry level X cameras and new improved X-Tran sensors. Of course that’s pure speculation but they also interviewed Mr.Nishimura (Fuji manager). They may spilled out some info from him?

Form what I heard there is no FF X camera on the horizon for the next 6-8 months…

Next Rumor: the X20 is coming

X-10 Amazon

Fujifilm is ready to launch the X20! The X10 is a little great camera. Fujirumors yet reported that this camera won the StuffUK Award. Now it’s time also for this one to retire, and the replacement is ready to hit the market. I don’t have any informations about the specs right now. But I’ll follow the hint.

X-E1 firmware 1.02 coming soon?

Photobucket

Our reader Georg just received his X-E1. He checked his firmware version. Take a look at the image above. Body version firmware 1.02. He sent me a link to this German Forum, where another guy claims to have the 1.02 firmware.

I checked Fujis site, but the 1.02 firmware is still not available there (click here).

This could mean that Fuji is about to release the new firmware update soon. But, as Georg says: “one bumper: there is still no selectable shutter speed in auto iso.

Thanks Georg, and leave a comment if you also have the 1.02 firmware on your X-E1

P.S.: set minimum shutter speed in auto ISO is leading our X-series future improvements wish list poll. Keep on voting. Choose 3 options.

X-100 replacement with X-TRANS sensor coming soon

Photobucket

If you check page 16 in the current edition of f11 (click here) – an online photography magazine and well worth a read – there’s an X-E1 review in which the photographer mentions an x-trans equipped x100 replacement due out early next year. if true, this could tie in with the fuji announcement early January.

The photographer that wrote this review is sponsored by Fuji (click here)….it’s possible that someone dropped something into conversation and he dropped it into his article.
