Third Party Lenses – How Popular Are They Really? – VOTE NOW (G Mount Edition)

After the survey for the X mount (votes & results here), it is time to see which type of lenses the FujiRumors community owns for the GFX system.

You’ll be able to vote on the following options.

  • Fujinon GF lenses
  • G mount third party manual focus lenses
  • adapted manual focus lenses
  • adapted autofocus lenses (using smart AF adapters from Fringer & Co)

Tick the boxes in case you own any lens that falls into one of these categories.

And yes, I wish there would be the option to vote for “third party G mount autofocus lenses”, but sadly that’s still not offered by Fujifilm. I don’t know if that’s because Fujifilm is still keeping the G mount closed to third parties, or if it’s just a matter of lower sales volumes that does not make the G mount as attractive as other mounts for third party lens manufacturers.

Fujifilm Invests 30 Million Dollar in INSTAX Film Production Facilities

Fujifilm just decided to throw a ton of money (4.5 billion JPY – about 30 million USD) into what the Fujifilm CEO called their “new goldmine“: Instax!

That money will go into creating new facilities for Instax Film production.

That’s quite an unexpected turn of events for a product line, Instax, that Fujifilm was just about to shut down, when an unexpected event breathed new life into the agonizing market. You can read about this randomly lucky event here.

This event happened when Polaroid had just dropped their Instant business and Fujifilm was about to do just the same. Lucky Fujifilm!
