Lightforge – Dennis Radermacher‎Trinity
Gibraltar Rock, Tai Tapu, New Zealand

If sheer force of will could move clouds, these fuzzies would have found themselves on the other side of the planet in a heartbeat.

It was one of these 50:50 evenings when the most honourable Landscapes ~ Rob Dickinson and myself set out to explore around Gibraltar Rock. All the ingredients for a mind-blowing sunset were present, if it hadn’t been for a blob of high cloud that was covering the sun the whole time.

We took a few car park snaps and went exploring. Climbing up the peak in gusty winds was quite interesting with a giant Manfrotto 057 tripod in tow. Can’t recommend it!

Gibraltar Rock was supposed to be the destination for our next Hero Meet-up. It’s a social landscape photography meeting Rob and I put up in Christchurch occasionally. We had to postpone due to a gale forecast a while ago, but might have another go at it soon. Fancy joining us? Watch our Facebook page for details:

This image is a 6-shot panorama and bracket. I ended up stitching two panos in PTGUI, one for the ground and one for the sky. The result was merged with luminosity masks. The light wasn’t really ideal, so I decided to go aggressive on the editing for a grungy look.
