6 months ago |I’m wondering how Fuji is going to price their upcoming products, especially the X100s and the XF 23mm F1.4 lens… The X100 was $1200 at introduction as far as I remember and I don’t hink they will go much if any higher. I also think they need to price the 23mm lens way beneath it if they want to sell some. With the same sensor, a hybrid VF and just a one stop slower lens who would go for the lens only instead of a whole back-up camera?!
After the 14mm I was thinking the 23mm lens would be more less in the same ballpark price-wise but now I regained hope. I can’t see it being as cheap/expensive as the 35mm but maybe Fuji gets it out under $750? And the 56mm as well, pretty please
Hey Admin, do you have any info on when the new lenses will be introduced? Any chance it will happen already at CES?

Graet job, keep’em coming!

6 months ago |I assume, you might be wrong with that.
The reason a company changes the name of a products successor to X100S instead X200 is to increase its price.
So the buyer will psychologically argue that the S is a better ([S]pecial) Version of the old one, and therefore, a higher introduction price of (lets say 1500$-1600$) might be justified.
I fear the worst.
Mike
6 months ago |I think $1500-$1600 would be a bad move, as it puts the X100s price wise above both the the X-E1 kit and X-Pro1 body. One may of course argue that these are three very different cameras and the X100 is a niche product for ‘true passionates’ but this doesn’t change the fact, that Fuji needs to sell a couple (thousands) to get a worthwhile profit and that’s what the y probably want to do
The pricing will be a though call for Fuji with three very different and yet very comparable products and I’m still hoping they will surprise us in a good way!

6 months ago |Nice for the X100s and the X20. And what about the new XF lenses shedulled for the beginning of 2013 ??

6 months ago |I expect X-100s will be a very mildly updated X-100. 3 inch screen 920k dots. 16MP sensor from XPro. Slightly improved OVF. Better video. THat’s about it. Price should be around 1300. I dont think Fuji expects X-100s to have same success X-100 did, since now there is X mount cameras.
X-20 on the other hand, may be very interesting. Hopefully they update VF big time, heck, please make it a OVF/EVF hybrid.

6 months ago |Photo rumors is reporting that the X100S will have peaking!
Tom
6 months ago |Yeah. I just read that on PR too. I hope they can bring this update to X-pro1. I really need that.
Peter
6 months ago |Given the demand for that feature, it would be a major surprise (and mistake on Fuji’s part) if they didn’t offer focus peaking.
The only real question is if there will be a final firmware update with peaking support for the old X100 (and other X series cameras) like the one the X-Pro1 received when the X-E1 was announced, but I highly doubt it since it would make it a lot tougher to sell the new model to existing X100 customers. If they do offer a peaking update for the X100, I’m going to be really impressed because literally no other company would do that.

6 months ago |I hope they do too. Personally, the X-Trans sensor is way more enticing but I know a lot of people have been longing for a proper MF solution that includes peaking of some variety.

6 months ago |Anyone think there Will be a physical redesign to the x100 body??

6 months ago |I think the X100s name is a strong clue that it will just be a technical upgrade.

6 months ago |I’m probably alone here but I wouldn’t mind the x100 successor to be smaller.

6 months ago |Remember when Apple stuck an “s” label on the iPhone 4. I expect this is a similar upgrade – speed and IQ bump only. Too many people love the form of the X100 to mess w/success.

6 months ago |Any idea how much the prices on the regular x100 and x10 will drop after the introduction of the new ones?
