I guess for all of us Sirui is well known for its tripods, such as my Sirui T-025X.

So it comes rather surprising, to see them launching the Sirui 50mm/F1.8 1,33x anamorphic lens for Fujifilm X.

It won’t cost more than €500 and be available for Fujifilm X, Sony FE and MicroFourThirds.

It’s a manual focus lens with 0.85m minimum focus distance. It will weight about 560 gramm.

UPDATE: Fujifilm X-A7 coming in 2 more colors in addition to the ones already leaked. Still one missing, though. Let’s see if nokishita can leak that one too :)

  • faster autofocus than Fujifilm X-A5
  • Touch LCD screen
  • USB-C for charging and connecting
  • Video: 4K at 24, 25 and 29.9fps as well as full HD up to 59.9

The specs above (and the ones we have shared in older X-A7 rumors) have now been confirmed also by nokishita:

  • Newly developed approximately 24.24 million pixel APS-C size sensor
    • Improved image quality during high-sensitivity shooting compared to X-A5
    • Uses copper wiring that enables high-speed data reading
    • Approximately 8.5 times the number of image plane phase difference pixels compared to X-A5
  • Realized 4K video using abundant amount of information equivalent to 6K by reading all pixels of the sensor
  • Capable of shooting smooth 4K movies at 30 frames / second
  • 4K video can be recorded continuously for up to 15 minutes, and full HD / HD video for up to 30 minutes.
  • Equipped with “Countdown Video” function for the first time as “X Series”

  • For the first time in the “X Series”, the “Vari Angle Structure” that allows the monitor to be adjusted to any angle is adopted.
  • Lineup of “Scene Position” with “Light Trail” as “X Series” for the first time
  • Wi-Fi / Bluetooth installed
  • Input / output terminals: USB Type-C (USB 2.0 High-Speed), HDMI micro terminal (Type D), φ2.5mm 3-pole mini jack

The Fujifilm X-A7 looks actually like a very nice camera to me.

Especially the upgrade in the video compartment (now 4K@30p instead of the previous – and rather useless – 4K@15p) together with the new fully articulating screen, make it a compact options for vloggers.

A nice camera is coming our way, although I wish it had a pop-up EVF instead of a pop-up flash.

Fujifilm Patents 500-2500mm Zoom Lens for 1 inch Type Cameras

Share

My buddy at CanonWatch told me that FUJIFILM filed a patent for a 500-2500mm zoom lens for a 1.0-type sensor camera. These lenses are for a security use.

In recent years, the demand for surveillance cameras used for remote monitoring in harbors and / or airports has increased. Accordingly, the demand for telephoto and super telephoto variable magnification optical systems is increasing. In this type of variable magnification optical system, the optical element disposed closer to the object side tends to have a large diameter and the weight balance tends to deteriorate, and therefore there is a demand for a reduction in the load on the object side portion. There is also a demand for an inexpensive configuration, a high zoom ratio, and high performance.

However, the variable power optical system described in Patent Document 1 requires a large-diameter aspherical optical element and is expensive.

In order to solve the above problems, the variable magnification optical system of the present invention includes two reflecting mirrors each having a reflecting surface facing each other in order from the object side. “

Lens Specification:

  • Zoom ratio: 5.0
  • Focal length: 500.007 2501.077 mm
  • F number: 3.125 15.632
  • ω: 0.917 0.183
  • Image height: 8.0 8.0 mm
