According to our information, just at launch, the demand was triple the (already optimistic) forecast by Fujifilm. Managers later on officially said sales are more than twice what they expected.
As a consequence, it took a long time to finally ship it, and until just recently it was not always easy to find in stock.
If you can afford it, this camera will make you very happy for sure in terms of image quality. Another topic is the ergnomic layout. Personally I wish it would have more of that retro feeling. But that’s niche, so Fujifilm wanted to go more DSLR style mainstream with this body.
Some Fujifilm X100V users over at our 30,000+ members strong Fujifilm X100V facebook group are experiening overheating issues on their Fujifilm X100V camera. The affected area is the entire lower back of the camera, as you can see from the image above. You can read the post about this issue here.
Other members do not have this issue, so maybe it affects only a limited number of cameras that might require an extra step at the Fujifilm service for a fix.
In the video below, Andrew tested the X100V overheating. Here are his findings:
camera set at 3 seconds interval time shooting
Room temperature
after 600 shots the camera reached 108 Fahrenheit (42 Celsius)
temperature remains steady also after 750 shots (on same battery)
Heated Room Temperature (ambient temperature at 100/105 Fahrenheit = 37/40 Celsius)
camera quickly arrives at 100 Fahrenheit around thumb rest area
after 100 shots he reached 114 Fahrenheit (45 Celsius)
only after 600 shots he got the yellow overheating warning icon (129 F/ 53 C)
after that things remain steady and the camera didn’t get much hotter
yellow overheating icon you can still shoot, but you risk more red hot spots
once the overheating icon turns red, the camera is about ti shut down
CONCLUSION for STILLS
In real world photographing there is nothing to be concerned about
4K Video
In video, after 12 minutes he got overheating warning and temperature climbs quickly
if you swap the batteries, you can record also over 1 hour
you will indeed get overheating issues if you shoot longer 4K videos
Also, in the video below Andrew reports about flaws with the focusing ring, which some report gets an unpleasant grinding when you turn it. Andrew has in general experienced this kind of sound also with other Fujinon prime lenses. He said he heard Fujifilm is quick in fixing this. The X100V he has, has not this issue.
Fujifilm Russia has published a statement on their facebook page, that the shipping of Fujifilm X-T4 cameras is delayed from April to May, 2020. Also, there might be a retail price change.
Important information about FUJIFILM X-T4
The official start of sales of the FUJIFILM X-T4 camera is postponed to a later date, from April 2020 to May 2020.
Due to the sharply increased volatility in the foreign exchange market, by the time the FUJIFILM X-T4 camera starts selling, it is possible to revise the previously announced recommended retail prices.
This is definitely unfortunate for our fellow Russian Fujifilm X shooters, and we hope we won’t see the same delay or price changes in any other country.
So far, neither Fujifilm Japan, North America or Europe have announced anything similar. Most of their press releases still show “April” as shipping start.
But surely, even if the Fujifilm X-T4 starts shipping in April, it will be available only in very limited numbers.
Venus Optics will soon launch the Laowa 15mm f/4.5 W-Dreamer shift lens for full frame cameras.
Now we have some sample images and we can give a few more details about how this full frame lens works on the Fujifilm GFX medium format system.
According to a beta tester, the Laowa 15mm f/4.5 W-Dreamer shift lens can be used on Fujifilm GFX, but the ability to shift is limited to ± 7.
Here is his the feedback the Chinese beta tester gave so far:
Although the image field of the shift lens is much larger than the ordinary 135 format lens, if the offset is too large (± 7 or more) on the 44×33 format, it will still have a dark angle
