That's neat for my girlfriend's X10 and I think that a similar update for the X100 is pretty much a given, which is nice too (for the record, I have a X-Pro1, but I still don't feel like selling the X10 back, I like that camera too much!).

I used to have mixed feelings about built-in filters, because I always post-process on computer and prefer to keep things open.
But using the Olympus XZ-1 for some time made me realise that built-in filters can be a fun way to shake things up when shooting.
A miniature/tilt-shift effect on the Fuji, that's really cool for me.

Sadly still no love for the X100. But considering that they're having a firmware update for the x10, I really hope something will come up for the x100 before the year ends. :)

- if Fuji decides to continue significantly improving and updating existing models with great firmware updates, I’ll finally be completely convinced that their system is an excellent and future-proof investment despite the premium price point. -

Agreed, in my mind the recent firmware upgrades really set fuji apart from other companies. At the moment I am a Olympus user seriously considering the x-e1 instead of e-m5. I have never seen Olympus give out a single art filter as an upgrade, let alone the massive improvements which fuji has given - especially those for the x pro.

I agree with Peter. I personally do not own X100 but I have tried it before and really love it even though it's not up to my satisfactory. Improved AF and manual focus will really be a greater addition to an already great camera. I am currently waiting for the X-E1 to release but if X100 do have those firmware upgrade, I will certainly get a the X100.

I really hope they are finally going to release an update for the X100 that repurposes the useless "RAW" button to serve as a launcher for the quick menu, adds the improved AF and MF from the X-Pro 1/X-E 1 and updates the menu system to use the X-Pro 1's menus, which is much less confusing and complicated.

The X100 is a camera that people are going to own, love and use for a long time, and if Fuji decides to continue significantly improving and updating existing models with great firmware updates, I'll finally be completely convinced that their system is an excellent and future-proof investment despite the premium price point.
