The X-Pro1 is being talked about a lot lately in various forums, especially after the dpreview, because it is a plasticky, smeared looking mess at low and medium ISO. The high ISO looks good, but it looks good in a similar way to applying way too much chroma NR. The X-Trans isn't ready for primetime, because raw converters aren't using the algorithms necessary to get good results from it.

I'm not a Fuji hater. In fact, I use the X100. However, this needs to be addressed by Fuji, and Fuji needs to work with 3rd party raw converter makers to figure this out. Granted, even the X-P1's jpegs and the supplied raw converter aren't doing a good job, either. Fuji focused on high ISO with X-Trans, but threw out great low-mid ISO in the process, and I hope the next version of the X100 doesn't have this sensor. I've known several shooters who've already returned the camera. :(

Sure high iso is better with the Xpro but Its still not as good in terms of tonal range and colour. The fuji images look like they are shot on a APSC sensor and with the 5DMKIII just around the corner I'd expect the image quality to be even better. If the Fuji had at least as good tonal range and colour as the 5DII I'd buy one but as it is I don't think I could handle the drop in quality despite the convenience factor.

me, im kind of person who do not want FF camera because the body and lenses gotta be too big and heavy even if the mirror and prism will be taken away. I know that 5D2 is an old camera, but we all have to understand that none of the APS-C or smaller sensor cameras had never been better than 5D2, but X-Pro1 is now able to have very high image quality with way less noises at low light situation. There is no goal if we start wanting the perfect image quality cuz there are no perfect camera in the world, right? and don't forget that the organic sensor is coming any sooner anyways...

I agree that the 5D II is now quite old and will be replaced ?Friday. Having said that if I can have a camera which delivers 5D II quality in a small(ish) form factor I will be very happy. However, your point is well taken in that I hope Fuji is able to develop their own full frame x series camera. The reason is that the Fuji technology appropriately applied to a full frame sensor has the potential to be amazing and the look generated by the DOF of full frame is hard to replicate in APS cameras. I am almost certainly going to buy the xpro-1 barring any last minute bugs not yet detected etc.
