Fujifilm USA says X100 is not discontinued…

ThePhoBlographer reports that Fuji USA said that the X100 is not set as discontinued. Anyway, I am pretty sure the X200 is coming soon :)

  • Hi John, seems like Fujifilm wants to keep the X100 along with rumored X200. The main difference may be in a focal length – 50mm (135 format equiv.) with slightly faster f1.8-f1.7 aperture. By doing this Fujifilm can place two cameras in the market without rivaling/replacing each other. The fact is that Leica users most often have 35mm and 50mm lenses and Fujifilm surely knows it.

  • @george
Yeah I don’t think you’ll see any major changes physically if only because the X100 was so successful. I think they plan to build off the current frame and add more megapixels and faster AF.

  • Perhaps the X100 just gets only a minor update, like (very) small body changes, new sensor,.. but the overall look and feel keeps the same.

  • It’s going to be discontinued I work at a Camera store and we have nomore stock coming into the stores in the near future.

Good sign that it will be discontinued

  • Well of course they would say that! It would be impossible to shift existing x100 stock without a huge discount if they said otherwise.
