Fuji Korea announces the new X-E1! (Update with lens price )

First we heard that the announcement of the new X-E1 has been postponed to tomorrow (September 6th) But now Fuji Korea posted the full X-E1 info!!! Don’t know if they made a mistake by publishing it too early :)

P.S.: Google translation tool isn’t working on the korean website. Any help form Korean readers is welcome!

UPDATE: Price info of the 14mm f/2.8 lens have been posted on Digidirect.com.au. And also for the 18-55mm zoom (Click here).

    • What are you talking about? 18mm F2 R not a new lens. Am I miss something?

      • under the 18 lens there is the 27mm = 35 f2

        • nope, that’s good old 18mm f/2 lens, what’s written there is that it has angle of view equivalent to 27mm lens on 35mm

  • I might be wrong, but isn’t the 18mm F2 available from the start of the system?

    • Yep. Though not sure about the ‘R’ bit. With Olympus new ‘R’ type lenses meant quieter focus.

    • Exactly

  • Its Sept 6th in Korea.

  • I’m actually not too sure if the price info on the Australian site is correct. From looking at other products on that website, it seems that most other things seem to be overpriced by 10-15% on most products compared to prices in the U.S.. However, it is possible that prices can be that much.

    • Australian dollars are worth sh*t. :P

But yes a lens this wide, still with good aperture, it can be expensive. Even with crop-factor considered. That is if you want any kind of performance out of it.

      • The Aussie $$$$ comment needs more research actually . What is always puzzling is the vast variety of pricing world wide.
Fuji is definitely lifting their game though

      • They are worth more than USD though..

Aus prices are typically higher but I wouldn’t take digidirect prices too seriously. They usually list lenses way in advance and the prices fluctuate. But it looks like the zoom is priced the same as the other lenses while the 14mm is more expensive.

  • The zoom price is a bit on the high side I think.

I know it’s not your typical F3.5-F5.6 kit but triple the price for 2/3-1 stop faster? Who makes a non-FF ‘kit’ zoom more expensive than a 50mm F1.4 equivalent?

    O well, I’ll have to wait for the 23mm F1.4, I guess…

    • Sorry MJr but you might need to check your exchange rates. Australian dollar has been above the US for well over 12 months. But considering the state of the US economy is anyone really surprised…

      • Exactly ;)

      • The Canon 17-55/2.8 IS is around $1100. And worth every penny.

  • Any news on the vf yet?
