Correction Fuji X-E1 announcement tomorrow. Sony-Fuji partnership on the OLED viewfinder!

Our friends over at Photorumors corrected their previous claim of a September.5th announcement. The Fuji X-E1 and the X compact camera with fixed lens are going to be announced tomorrow September 6th!

The interesting thing is that the new X-E1 will use the same electronic OLED viewfinder of the Sony NEX-6 that is going to be announced next week. It’s a 2,34k dot viewfinder.  I am surprised to hear about that partnership!

More info: X-E1 weights 350g and a mic input that will serve as electronic camera trigger.

  • Fuji X-E1 is already posted on the official Korean fuji website. It only has limited information though.

    • Thanks Fred!

  • i love the NEX7 EVF, do’nt know how a down-graded NEX6 EVF would look like on both of these camera.

hopefully the price isn’t $999.99 for just the body?

    • I think it will be $999.99 for just the body unfortunately. I just can’t see them including the 18-55mm f2.8-4.0 lens as a kit for that price.

    • NEX-6 EVF isn’t a “downgraded EVF”, it’s the same as Alpha 99′s one.

  • Thanks Fred !

  • No, the EVF on the X-E1 is the same as the new Sony NEX-6
This is a BETTER EVF than on the more expensive NEX-7

This new EVF from Sony is also rumored to be on the a99 full frame to be announced Sept 12th
