I’ve passed a lot of time yesterday/today chatting and writing emails… and now I can give you an update about the mysterious non-X-Trans camera.

Trusted sources told me that the camera without X-Trans sensor will be very cheap and sold together with one or two new lenses (one of these lenses could be a 16-50 or 16-55 zoom lens)… could this be the camera that another new source told me would cost $550 body+lens? (trusted sources could not confirm the price of $550)

I’m sure you want to know what sensor it could have… I’ve no idea. But if I should place a bet, then I would agree with Per K, who in the comments to the previous rumor said it could be the APS-C sensor of the X100… but it’s only a supposition.

If the sources are right, with these new entry-level cameras (X-Trans and non-X-Trans), Fuji could soon offer to every customer the camera tailored to his needs, from high-end (X-PRO1 + great lenses) to entry-level (X-whatever + cheaper lenses). As I’ve read somewhere in the web (can’t remember where): “Fuji colours for everyone”.

A new source from the land of the rising sun told me that Fuji will announce 2 different mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras this summer, with two different sensors. One should be announced in the second half of June and the other one later. The price of one of these bodies should be of $700.

I’ve checked it and here is what I know from trusted sources:

Fuji could indeed announce two different mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras with two different sensors, one with an APS-C X-Trans sensor and one without X-Trans sensor [there is an update to the non-X-Trans sensor camera here].

Trusted sources could not tell me which one will be announced earlier or if they will be announced together.

That’s it for now. As always, please read rumors carefully. I specify in every rumor if it comes from trusted sources, new sources, anonymous sources or if the rumor has been posted on other websites. Don’t throw everything together in the same pot. Rumors of new sources should be taken with a grain of salt, while trusted sources have proven to be right in the past (as with the X100S, X20, updated lens roadmap, 55-200 announcement on April 17 and more, just check the rumor section on FR). The network of sources is growing. Let’s see if this new source will become a trusted source.

The Swedish website Cyberphoto (google translation here) claims that the cameras hold by that smiling Fuji rep is a new model that Fuji will announce this summer: “unfortunately, we can not say whether it is compact or SLR. What we can say is that no current model is changed without Fujifilm expands its range. More information will come.”

The camera has been smeared out and you can’t see anything else than the size…I would say X20 alike size. This camera smells a lot like the rumored Fuji X entry level system body

We got in contact with the Chinese company that just launched the new “Lens Turbo” adapter which is a focal reducer as the Speed Booster adapter but with a different design. They told us that nine new adapters will be launched this year:

PK, AI, EF, FD, MD, C/Y, Leica R, and M42 to Fuji X mount.

The image on top shows you their first adapter made for the NEX system. The company that makes the lens also makes the Mitakon 35mm 0.95 for X-mount (you can find them here on eBay).

A new source told me here that the price (body+lens) should be of $550 and launched in July (not confirmed until now from trusted sources).

This time the 2 lenses in offer should be the XF 18-55mm and XF 55-200mm. So, if you plan to switch to the Fuji X-series, this could be an interesting deal: buy both XF-zoom lenses and you’ll grab the X-E1 for a significantly reduced price.

I don’t know the price and when the zoom lenses kit deal will exactly be launched, but I’m looking forward to it. Lemme see if I can tell you more about it soon.

SAR reports that Zeiss will announce their new Prime lenses for Sony NEX and Fuji X system on Tuesday, May 7th. The final price is still unknown although many expect it to be somewhere between $1,000 and $1,200. The first two lenses to ship in June will be the 12mm f/2.8 and the 32mm f/1.8 lens. The 50mm f/2.8 macro will ship in late 2013. All lenses have electronic Aperture and Autofocus control.

Now, this let’s me think about a rumor I’ve received a few days ago, anonymously via rumor box. A single line: “X-S2 with x20 tech over 1 month“. Just this, nothing more. I wanted to check it, before I post it, but now, with digicame-info saying that a new camera with a 2/3 inch sensor is about to be released this summer, I thought it’s time to post it… let’s put the pieces of this rumor puzzle together.

I hope I can bring some order in these rumor days soon. But, the good news is, that there are still some more Fuji-cameras to come next.

Latest rumors floating around the web do say that Fuji will release a 2/3 inch sensor and X-mount entry level camera in July. While it seems pretty sure that a entry level camera is coming I am not sure that the 2/3 inch sensor digicame-info rumor is correct. But if it is then I don’t get it why a super small 2/3 inch sensor should be used within the much larger X-mount. As you see from the image on top there is an incredible “waste of space”. I would rather make a new mount for that to reduce the mount and the overall camera size.

As I said, we talk about rumors and not about facts. But I want to hear from you guys if there is something I am missing here…

Now we have 2 new sources talking about a cheaper X-series camera to be announced this summer. I do not have news from trusted sources until now but I’ll post immediatly an update, if they can confirm (or find out more) the announcement of a new body and lens as told me by the new source.
