Fujifilm X-Pro3 Owners Can Return Their Viltrox Lenses and No Problems with Fujifilm X-T4, X-T3 and Other Cameras

Yesterday on FujiRumors we reported how all Viltrox autofocus lenses can damage Fujifilm X-Pro3 cameras. To see an image of the damage, check out this article.

Well, now Viltrox is letting customers know, that Fujifilm X-Pro3 users can return their Viltrox lens. They also say that there is no problem with other cameras, such as the Fujifilm X-T4 and Fujifilm X-T3.

The screenshot above is from an email a FR-reader got from Viltrox.

Viltrox has just issued an official statement, where they say that the Viltrox 23mm f/1.4, Viltrox 33mm f/1.4 and Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 can damage your Fujifilm X-Pro3.

The reason, so I have been told, is that the location of the lens release button on the Fujifilm X-Pro3 is too close to the bayonet.

Here is what Viltrox writes.

1) Kind Reminder for Fujifilm X-Pro3 Users:

For the sake of your camera, it would be better not use Viltrox 23mm, 33mm or 85mm X mount lens onto Fujifilm X-PRO3 model in case it will damage your camera. Due to the structural conflict, they will scratch a little bit against each other. We apologize for any inconvenience caused!

2) Lens Profiles of Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 STM(E) Lens

For your convenience of lens corrections on Photoshop or Lightroom, we have uploaded Lens Profiles of Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 STM(E) Lens on Vitlrox website www.viltrox.com (Home – Download – Firmware – Upgrading

Let’s hope the upcoming Tokina equivalent X mount lenses won’t have this problem.

Down below you can see the original statement document shared by Viltrox.

Fujifilm X-T4 Top Seller at Mapcamera (Japan)

The Japanese store MapCameras published their top selling camera rankings for last month.

The Fujifilm X-T4 leads the pack, and we find other 3 Fujifilm in the top 10. I am surprised to see the Fujifilm X-H1 in there, not because it would not deserve that spot, but because it is discontinued on so hard to find anywhere.

Of course thet Mapcamera data is not representative for overall sales.

With that said, if big retailers share their sales data, it might not be representative for the overall market, but it can still give an approximate indication of what the market wants and how different markets react to different products.

So, down below is Mapcamera ranking for April 2020

How to Use Your Fujifilm Camera as a Webcam for Free (No Need of Camlink 4K)

FR-reader Kim contacted me, letting me know about a workflow he established, in order to run his Fujifilm as a webcam during video conferences with Zoom, without any need of a capture card (like the very popilar Camlink 4K).

I made a video recently about how to use your Fujifilm camera as a webcam without a capture card (like the Camlink 4K). I thought some would fine it useful given the 4-5 week delay on getting a capture card lately.  Also is a method to get external webcam (the camera in this case) working on Zoom as I know that is also a bit of an issue for some.

It’s done over the UBS connection to a Mac (no PC as I no little of those things anymore) and works great. Totally free set up, once you have a Mac Fuji camera and a USB cable. I did a two hour Aikido class on Zoom last night and battery only dropped to 71%.

Though you might share this if you feel people out there might benefit for it.

Thanks Kim for sharing this with the Fujifilm community.
